GMC CarbonPro replaces standard steel panels and floor of traditional truck beds with high strength, low weight carbon-fiber composite. Standard on the 2019 and 2020 Sierra 1500 Denali CarbonPro Edition and the Sierra 1500 AT4 CarbonPro Edition, the CarbonPro carbon-fiber bed is the first application of its kind in a pickup bed.
To test the performance and overall durability of the new industry-first GMC CarbonPro truck bed, GMC pitted the carbon-fiber composite against one of the strongest forces in nature – Category 1 hurricane-force projectiles.
How did CarbonPro fare against the 85+ MPH impacts? GMC’s latest innovation was virtually unfazed. The same tests consistently resulted in scratches, dents and even holes when performed on standard steel truck beds. The carbon-fiber material’s greater rebound efficiency allowed the projectiles to simply bounce off instead of being absorbed and causing damage.
CarbonPro does not require a bed liner or paint. The UV-stable, corrugated composite material is designed to provide superior traction and easy cleanup. Available only on the GMC Sierra CarbonPro bed is Professional Grade innovation at its finest.
